Dusai National Park, located in the breathtaking Skardu Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, is one of the country's most spectacular high-altitude protected areas. Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Dusai National Park is from June to September when the weather is pleasant and the meadows are in full bloom. The park becomes inaccessible during winter months due to heavy snowfall.

Entry Requirements

Visitors need to obtain an entry permit from the Gilgit-Baltistan Forest Department office in Skardu. Foreign tourists must register with the local tourism police.

How to Reach Dusai National Park

By Air

Fly to Skardu Airport (KDU) from Islamabad. Several airlines including PIA and Serene Air operate regular flights (weather permitting). From Skardu, hire a 4x4 vehicle for the 3-4 hour drive to the park entrance.

By Road

From Islamabad, take the Karakoram Highway (KKH) to Skardu (approximately 22 hours). The road journey offers spectacular views but requires careful planning. Many visitors choose to break the journey in Chilas or Astore.

Local Transport

From Skardu, jeeps can be hired for the journey to Dusai. The last 15km requires a 4x4 vehicle due to rough terrain. During peak season (July-August), shared jeeps may be available from Skardu's main bazaar.
